MKFC Ghana CAP Unit, with the Project Leader Kay Obiri har återvänt från senaste besöket i byn NILIYUNGDO i Ghana. Stora förändringar har skett i byn med bla vattenrening enligt Sodis metoden, avfallshantering, inhängader för de tidigare fritt strövande grisarna och andra husdjur. Nu bygger man ett även nytt skolhus.

Här är Kays egna ord:

One thing evident about Niliyungdo is the people’s passion for change, the steps to move on ahead.
Returning from the village on a follow up visit to see how well the people were adapting to the new ways they’ve learnt, I was very impressed with the results the people displayed.
During the previous visit, the men of the village made known their intentions of building a new six classroom school.
Talking to the teacher, Mr. Solomon stated, “You being visitors have something new to share with us, and from what you have shared with us; we see it to be a boost in moving our people in a better direction.”
The people themselves know the importance of a better life, It is not just enough to educate the people, nor is it enough to help change the attitude and behavior of the people, but to ensure a safe and clean zone for all, young and old; safe from malaria, safe from water borne diseases, safe from illnesses.
That is the main goal.
On previous visits, it had always been the women taking steps to see that things were in order. But on this visit, things had changed. It had changed for better, because the men were also hard at work doing their parts also.
