WIPO Worldwide Academy was founded in March 1998 by the Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO),
Dr. Kamil Idris in response to demand for knowledge and skills in intellectual property (IP). It serves as a center of excellence in teaching, training and research in IP. Its programs cater to different target audiences – inventors and creators, business managers and IP professionals, policy makers and government officials of IP institutions, diplomats and representatives, students and teachers of intellectual property and the civil society.

WIPO Summer School on Intellectual Property

The WIPO Worldwide Academy will offer a two-week Summer School on Intellectual Property
(Summer School) from July 16 to 27, 2007.
The Summer School offers an invaluable education program in the whole area of intellectual property (IP) (Please see below program).
Fifty places will be made available.
Selected applicants will be notified by May 15, 2007.
Objective
The objective of the Summer School is to provide an opportunity for senior students and young professionals to acquire deeper knowledge of IP, and to gain an appreciation of IP as a tool for economic, social, cultural and technological development and the role WIPO plays in the global administration of IP.
Who May Apply?
Senior students and young professionals from any field of study or discipline.
